4-star C Xavion Staton announces his commitment

The Dusty May era of Michigan men's basketball begins tonight when the Wolverines host Cleveland State at the Crisler Center at 8 p.m. (Big Ten Network).

As this game plays out, one of Michigan's top targets in the 2025 recruiting class will announce his commitment among four finalists. Four-star resort in Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista Xavion Staton will make its decision tonight at 9 p.m. among the final four, which in addition to the Wolverines also includes Stanford, BYU and UNLV.

Staton is among the top-rated four-star prospects in the 2025 class and is considered the No. 29 overall, No. 3 center and No. 1 player from the state of Nevada, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound man received scholarship offers from 32 Division I programs during his recruitment.

Michigan received commitments from two forwards in mid- to late October. to kick off his 2025 recruiting class and receive verbal commitments from four-star Napa (Calif.) Prolific Prep small forward Winter's Grady and a four-star New Zealand small forward Oscar Goodman. May and the Wolverines now want to strengthen their class with Staton and are awaiting the decision of the Flint (Mich.) St. Mary's five-star combo guard Trey McKenney on November 9th.
