Aaron Rodgers' favorite New York Jets target has been placed on IR due to a pectoral injury

The bad news continues for the New York Jets as this franchise fails to accomplish anything to its liking.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets will now be without Allen Lazard, Aaron Rodgers' favorite target.

The Iowa native will be sidelined with a pectoral injury.

Jets are placing WR Allen Lazard on injured reserve with a pectoral injury, sources say. Aaron Rodgers' good friend and trusted target has been out for at least four games.”

Lazard has been on a rebound, and while he still wasn't perfect, the veteran wide receiver was much better than most of the roster.

New York took several more steps Thursday afternoon.

Lazard, the biggest loss, won't be able to play until Dec. 8 because the bye week won't count toward his four missed games.

While it may not mean much at this point considering the Jets season is looking as good as it is going into Week 9, there is still a slim chance of making the playoffs.

From now on they would have to be perfect, which they haven't done yet, but that won't help.

His name wasn't featured much in trade talks, but it was always possible that he could have been moved before the November 5th trade deadline. This will turn them off.

Lazard, 28, has 412 yards and five touchdowns. He is second on the team in receiving yards and leads all receivers in touchdowns.

An unfortunate time for an injury for many reasons, as someone needs to step in for New York in his absence.
