“Yellowstone” Season 5 Part II – Release Date, Cast, Everything We Know

After a break of over a year Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 will be released later this year in November.

Four and a half seasons of the Taylor Sheridan series followed the Dutton family, led by patriarch Kevin Costner's John Dutton, who oversees the largest cattle ranch in what is now the United States. The Dutton family faces constant challenges from the people on their borders – growing Bozeman, Montana, the fictional Broken Rock Indian Reservation and America's first national park.

With multiple prequel series and a contemporary spin-off in the works, the original installment was originally scheduled to end at the end of 2023, but WGA and SAG strikes delayed production of the final episodes.

When will Yellowstone Is Season 5 Part II coming out?

The final episodes are scheduled to air internationally on Paramount Network starting November 10, 2024 at 8 p.m. Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on November 10th, in the UK on November 11th and in Latin America, Brazil and France later in November.

Has Yellowstone Season 5 Part II has started production?

The Paramount Network announced in May that production had begun on the second half of the final installment in Montana.

Paramount released the first photos for the second half of the fifth season at the end of August 2024.

Six episodes will complete the original part, as creator Taylor Sheridan announced The Hollywood Reporter that he felt Paramount could give him 10 episodes if needed.

Will Kevin Costner return? Yellowstone Season 5 Part II?

Costner ran the Mothership show before leaving about a year ago to eventually work on it Horizon: An American Sagawhich premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and will be released in cinemas in June.

After the Paramount Network announced the official return date, he announced via social media that he would not be returning for the final episodes of the western series.

“This is what I want to share with you after this long year and a half of work horizon and do whatever is required and think about it Yellowstone“This beloved series that I love, that I know you love, I just realized that I can't continue Season 5B or in the future,” he said. “It was something that really changed me. I loved it. And I know you liked it. And I just wanted to let you know that I won't be going back and I love the relationship that we've been able to build and I'll see you at the movies.”

Costner shed some light on what was going on behind the scenes as he negotiated a new contract for his role and changed the show's storyline.

In a recent interview with People, the actor expressed his disappointment that none of his former co-stars came to his defense, while the original narrative surrounding his absence was attributed solely to his inflexible filming schedule Horizon: An American Saga. Luke Grimes told The Independent that he understood the decision.

“I didn't feel good about it last year given the way they talked about it. It wasn't true. Now I'll talk a little about what the real truth behind it was. I have a contract in place for seasons five, six and seven,” he told Deadline. “In February they signed another contract after two to three months of negotiations. They wanted to do these again, and instead of the sixth and seventh seasons, there were 5A and 5B, and maybe we'll do six. They couldn't make these. horizon was set in the middle, but Yellowstone was first place. I pass (horizon) into the gaps. They just kept moving their gaps.”

Until the end of August 2024, Season 5B of the western drama series was considered the last, but there is a possibility of a Season 6 with the continuation of certain characters.

How many Yellowstone prequels are there?

There are two prequels available for the series to watch – 1883 And 1923.

1923which stars Harrison Ford as John Dutton and Helen Mirren as Cara Dutton as they navigate the early 20th century West in the age of prohibition, pandemics and drought. The prequel was renewed for a second season, but strikes in the summer of 2023 delayed production.

Sheridan hinted at two seasons to tell the complete story, and that likely means eight more episodes.

The series also stars Brandon Sklenar, Darren Mann, Michelle Randolph, James Badge Dale, Marley Shelton, Brian Geraghty, Aminah Nieves, Jerome Flynn and Julia Schlaepfer.

1883 Starring Sam Elliott as Shea Brennan, Tim McGraw as James Dutton, Faith Hill as Margaret Dutton, Isabel May as Elsa Dutton, who narrates, LaMonica Garrett as Thomas, Marc Rissmann as Josef, Audie Rick as John Dutton Sr. and more.

This series follows the Dutton ancestors' journey west across the Great Plains to unclaimed frontiers. Sheridan envisioned the entire series in one season, and the end of the season doesn't really leave room for another, with Sam Elliott's character dying by suicide.

“The story I heard is that Bob Bakish saw it and said, 'Wait a minute, she's dying!' They all die? What are we doing in season two?'” Sheridan told Deadline. “I said there is no second season. They think there better be a damn second season because we've already recorded it. I'm sitting here saying, “Guys, everyone's dead.”

Another prequel with the working title 1944 could also expand the world.

Will there be more? Yellowstone spinoffs?

Sequel spinoff 2024 will continue the franchise's contemporary timeline. In February 2023, Deadline exclusively reported the news that Matthew McConaughey was in talks to star in the latest installment of the Dutton saga.
