“For his father”: Melania Trump shares picture of Barron Trump voting

Former first lady Melania Trump confirmed that her son Barron Trump voted for his father in the presidential race against Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Voted for the first time – for his father!” Melania wrote in a post to X, formerly Twitter. Her post included a photo showing Barron filling out his ballot.

Barron, the former president's youngest son, who turned 18 this year and is studying at New York University, has not spoken publicly about politics, unlike his siblings who have played a more active role in Trump's administration and campaign.

Polls showed Trump running a tight race against Harris in the weeks leading up to Election Day, and the race still remained too close to call in most battleground states as of Tuesday night. CNN had not called North Carolina – for Trump – until 11:40 p.m. ET. Polls gave the Republican a 1.2-point victory on Election Day, according to the poll aggregate of 538.

Trump previously told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo that Barron was a factor in his decision to appear with popular streamer Adin Ross Bussin' with the boys last month.

“A little,” Trump said. “He tells me about all the 'hot' guys, people I've never heard of. (He says) 'Dad, this guy is hot.'”

Trump told Ross that his “sons told me about you.”

“They told me how tall – Barron, he said, 'Dad, he's really tall,'” Trump said.

Trump's former chief of staff Mick Mulvaney previously said Trump asked Barron for advice on how to win the support of younger voters, a group that has historically leaned toward Democrats.

Barron, who just turned 18 this year, is the first election in which he has been allowed to vote.

Barron has not publicly entered the political sphere, although it was once announced that he would speak at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in support of his father. However, in the end he was not present.

“While Barron is honored to have been selected as a delegate by the Republican Party of Florida, he unfortunately declines to participate due to prior commitments,” the former first lady's spokeswoman said at the time.

Trump's other sons, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, have been involved in his political career. His daughter Ivanka Trump served as a senior adviser in the White House but has largely stayed out of politics since leaving office in January 2021. Donald Jr. and Eric were prominent supporters of their father's presidential campaign this year.
