Donald Trump's base yearns for the “golden age,” an America they believe is lost.

He's on a mission to find it for her.

The New York tycoon stands on the precipice of a power that exceeds his wildest imagination.

Young men, black men, Latino men chose Trump 2.0.

Last US election – Trump elected president

The pollsters predicted a close race. In the end he won something resembling a landslide – with Republicans also flipping the Senate.

If they also retain the House of Representatives, it will be an unchecked power – Mr. Trump holds the keys in his hand to the White House and Congress.

But the promise to “Make America Great Again” goes deeper than that, and it’s a campaign that has recruited the unlikeliest of figureheads.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., estranged from the rest of his political dynasty, has suspended his own bid for the White House to support Mr. Trump.

“RFK” is known for questioning the safety of drinking water and vaccines.

The president-elect has not ruled out giving him responsibility for health.

In campaign speeches, Mr. Trump has laid out his plans to invest in flying cars and build “freedom cities” — free from government regulations.

On immigration, he promised the largest mass deportation of illegal migrants in U.S. history, completing construction of the wall and enforcing strict border controls.

Mr Trump has vowed to move rough sleepers from city centers to tent camps until their “problems can be identified”.

But it is the culture war mongering that will cause the most concern – there is no constitutional right to that abortion; Teachers are urged to “embrace patriotic values.”

Mr. Trump has pursued isolationist policies and sought to isolate America from global conflicts, not least in Ukraine and the Middle East.

He has promised to cut international aid by “hundreds of billions,” end the war in Ukraine and possibly withdraw America from NATO.

He had already made history – the first president to become a convicted felon. Only one other person has won two non-consecutive terms.

The unconventional, unfiltered 45th President of the United States will be the 47th President and the rest of the world is holding its breath.
