CBS Colorado political analysts react to the 2024 election night results

The election results for Colorado are still in. Some candidates have declared victory and some have conceded, but others are waiting to do so. According to CBS News projections, Lauren Boebert will represent Colorado for a third congressional term, but in a new district. Although she conceded in the presidential electionCBS News results showed Colorado voters chose Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump by a 54% margin as of Wednesday afternoon.

There have been numerous statewide measures (14) asking citizens to vote for or against this year, including on issues such as: abortionLegal discipline and school choice. The last time Coloradans had more than 14 statewide initiatives on their ballot was in 1914 – 110 years ago.

There were open seats in three of Colorado's eight congressional districts (Districts 3, 4 and 5). All three seats have been vacated by Republicans, and voters will decide whether GOP candidates will continue to represent them. The District 8 race remains close. It's one of several races across the country that could determine the balance of power in the U.S. House of Representatives. In Denver and other municipalities and counties, voters were asked to approve or reject local legislative changes on issues such as health care, affordable housing and school district funding.
