Jaguars TE Evan Engram (hamstring injury) missed third straight game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram will miss his third straight game with a hamstring injury.

Jaguars coach Doug Pederson said Friday that “next week looks promising” for Engram's return. Earlier in the week, he ruled out linebacker Foyesade Oluokun (plantar fasciitis) for Sunday's game in Houston.

Nickel back Darnell Savage (quad), receiver Gabe Davis (shoulder), cornerback Jarrian Jones (shoulder) and linebacker Devin Lloyd (knee) are questionable.

Engram injured his hamstring during warmups before the Week 2 game, did not play that day against the Cleveland Browns and then missed Monday night's game against Buffalo. Second-year player Brenton Strange started in Engram's place against the Browns and Bills and has five catches for 77 yards and a touchdown. He will likely start against Houston.

Engram, who had just one catch for 5 yards in the Jaguars' opening loss at Miami, had not missed a game with the Jaguars since signing with the team in March 2022. He caught 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns last season and has 188 catches for 1,734 yards and eight touchdowns in 35 games with the Jaguars.
