Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels receives high praise from Ja'Marr Chase

Washington Commanders' Jayden Daniels receives high praise from Ja'Marr Chase

Jayden Daniels appeared on the biggest stage. The Washington Commanders fended off a comeback attempt by the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3 and took a 38-33 victory.

The impressive part of the win? The Commanders were playing on the road on Monday Night Football and it was Daniels' first appearance in a prime time game.

En route to the win, the LSU product completed 21 of his 23 passes, setting a rookie record for completion percentage in a game. There were also 254 yards and two touchdowns in the air and one on the ground.

Another storyline in the game is Daniels going up against two LSU legends. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow and wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase won a national championship together in Baton Rouge. Daniels succeeded Burrow and, like him, won the Heisman Trophy.

However, the superstar wide receiver had high praise for Daniels and gave the rookie quarterback his stamp of approval.

“He’s a great damn player. I’m not going to lie,” Chase said after the game.

Chase himself caught six of his seven targets for 118 yards and two touchdowns. After his incredible performance, he took time to praise Daniels, showing just how impressive the Commanders' quarterback was.

As the rookie quarterback celebrates his coming out party on the prime-time stage, eyes will be on the Commanders' continued progress. Luckily for the club, the arrival of the rookie quarterback has provided a boost of energy in the locker room.

When Washington began taking on the Bengals, there seemed to be an added level of confidence on the sidelines. Like Chase said, Daniels is great. The rest of the offense will follow suit, and the franchise is headed in the right direction after the reigning Heisman winner proved to be the right choice with the No. 2 overall pick in the most recent draft.
