Antonio Pierce may have expressed his opinion on wide receiver Davante Adams.

The Las Vegas Raiders head coach liked an Instagram post Sports IllustratedMichael Fabiano of Michael Fabiano reported that Adams may have “already played his last snap with the Raiders.”

Pierce has since removed his like on the post, but his interaction may show that Fabiano's report is accurate and that the six-time Pro Bowler could be on his way out of Las Vegas.

Fabiano reported that the Raiders may prevent him from completing a trade and that he could have numerous suitors, with the New York Jets being a notable destination.

“Some of my little birds out there make me think there's a chance he doesn't play down again for the Raiders,” Fabiano said. “(My sources say that) he could have played yesterday, but the Raiders want to deal him because they know they could get something valuable out of him and they know they're not going anywhere this year.”

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Adams did not play in Week 4 after “going lame” in practice on Thursday. He is considered “week to week” with the injury.

Fabiano's report indicates that the injury may not be particularly serious, but the team wants to ensure he is healthy so a move can be made. While it could be a coincidence that Pierce liked the post, it could definitely be a sign that this move is coming very soon.

Adams has 18 catches for 209 yards and a touchdown in 2024. He is under contract through 2026, although his contract calls for an “out” after the 2024 season.

With that in mind, he could simply be a midseason rental from a contending team and the franchise wouldn't have to bring him back. However, the team could decide to keep him if he excels, which could be an interesting situation.

The 2024 NFL trade deadline is November 4th. If Adams were dealt, it would have to happen before that date.
