A windy cold front will moderate the heat on Thursday

The forecast for tonight:
It will be a clear night with low temperatures almost 10 degrees above normal. Early Thursday morning, winds will shift from the north along a cold front with gusts up to 25 mph.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 51; High: 80;
Sunny and dry on Thursday with a breezy northeast wind at 8-12 mph and gusts to 25 mph. The maximum temperature will be almost 10 degrees above average.

Pueblo Forecast: Low: 49; High: 85;
Sunny on Thursday with a NE wind 8-12 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.

Canon City forecast: Low: 55; High: 83;
Sunny and a little cooler on Thursday. Winds will be southeast at 5-10 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph.

Woodland Park Forecast: Low: 42; High: 74;
Sunny and warm Thursday with a SE wind at 5-10 mph, gusting to 20 mph.

Tri Lakes Forecast: Low: 47; High: 76;
Thursday will be sunny and windy in Monument, with northeast winds of 5-15 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.

Plains forecast: Low: 40s/50s; High: 80s;
Thursday will be sunny and dry with highs reaching lows to the mid 80s. Winds will be breezy northeast at 5-15 mph with gusts of 20-25 mph.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: Low: 52/51; High: 79/81;
Thursday will be slightly cooler with a breezy ENE wind at 5-10 mph and gusts up to 25 mph.

Mountain Forecast: Low: 30s/40s; High: 70s/80s;
It will be mostly sunny in the mountain valleys on Thursday with a light breeze and highs of 70 to 80 degrees.

Advanced Forecast Forecast:
Friday will be sunny with temperatures similar to Thursday, perhaps a few degrees cooler. Then we get another burst of heat on Saturday with high temperatures in the 70s/80s in the mountains and 80s/90s in the plains. We could see record highs again on Saturday. Saturday afternoon will be windy as the next cold front moves in, initially increasing the fire danger and then eventually cooling temperatures through Sunday.
