Sunny and cooler Friday

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – Meteorologist Peyton Sanders says it will be cooler on Friday behind a cold front, but record highs will quickly return on Saturday.

Friday will be a chilly start to the day with morning lows of 40° over western Kansas and 50° over eastern Kansas. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s to lower 80s and there will be plenty of sunshine.

Rapid warming is expected Saturday, with strong southwest winds gusting up to 40 mph across most of the state. High temperatures will reach the mid-90s, which will be near record highs for many locations.

Another cold front will move through the state Saturday evening, bringing highs into the upper 70s to lower 80s Sunday. It will remain dry on both fronts over the next few days, with no rain expected.
