The Glenhaven Fire began as a vegetation fire on a hillside on Harvey Boulevard in Glenhaven and spread to multiple spot fires, according to Cal Fire Sonoma-Lake-Napa spokesman Jason Clay.

The fire is on the northeast shore of Clear Lake and moving east. Officials have closed Highway 20 due to fire activity.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office has ordered mandatory evacuations for zones GLE-E072, CLO-E073, GLE-E094, CLO-E057 and CLO-E098. CLO-E099, CLO-E106 were added just before 2 p.m

At 2:30 p.m., zones CLO-E102, CLO-E107 and CLO-E082 were added, which include Clearlake Oaks and Clearlake Keys, two large residential communities east of the fire.

Sheriff's Office officials have ordered residents to evacuate immediately due to the imminent threat to their lives.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Lauren Berlinn said the current evacuation orders affect about 1,000 people.

“As updates are released, we will keep our social media accounts updated,” Berlinn said in an email.

The temporary evacuation point is at the Lucerne Senior Center, 3985 Country Club Drive in Lucerne.

According to a post on X, Cal Fire is reporting a “significant increase in resources” at the scene.

The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning for southern Lake County Friday afternoon. According to meteorologists, high temperatures, strong winds and humidity are creating critical fire weather conditions.
