The Vikings remain undefeated in Sam Darnold's revenge game against the Jets

The Minnesota Vikings are still undefeated after a 23-17 win over the New York Jets in London.

Quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 179 yards on Sunday against the team that drafted him first in 2018, but he was buoyed by a stellar performance from the Vikings defense.

Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 244 yards and two scores but was inefficient, completing just 29 of 54 attempts. He also threw three interceptions, two of which proved incredibly costly.

Rodgers' first interception was the be-all and end-all of the game. With Minnesota already leading 3-0, linebacker Andrew Van Ginkel grabbed Rodgers and returned the pass 63 yards for a touchdown. The pick-six came just a few plays after a Darnold fumble brought New York the ball into Vikings territory.

Minnesota added another touchdown and took a 17-0 lead in the second quarter before the Jets mounted their comeback.

Rodgers led a short, five-play, 31-yard drive for a New York touchdown in the final minute of the first half. The Jets also added a field goal in the third to get within seven points.

Darnold struggled in the second half, at times managing to make nine straight attempts without a completion.

In the fourth quarter, the Vikings scored two field goals around a touchdown catch by Garrett Wilson for New York. This opened up the game-winning drive opportunity for Rodgers, who took the lead by six with three minutes and seven seconds left.

But after leading the Jets into Minnesota territory, Rodgers threw his third interception of the day, giving New York a loss.

It was Darnold's worst performance of the season, but it was still enough to win. It was the first game this year in which Darnold did not throw a touchdown, having thrown as many as two in Weeks 1 through 4. He also threw 17 incomplete passes after throwing just 19 in the last two weeks combined.

However, Minnesota's defense saved their quarterback. The Vikings held the Jets to just 3.6 yards per play on offense. In addition to the three interceptions, Rodgers was also sacked three times.

The loss dropped the Jets to 2-3.

The Vikings are 5-0 and have a bye in Week 6.
