TikTok star Taylor Rousseau Grigg dies at age 25 after revealing health issues and illness

Taylor Rousseau Grigg, a 25-year-old TikToker who created lifestyle content, has died.

Her husband, Cameron Grigg, announced her “sudden and unexpected” loss on October 5 in an Instagram post and a GoFundMe post that spoke of her “death.”

“No one ever expects to have to deal with this kind of pain and heartbreak, especially at our age,” Cameron Grigg wrote at the start of a lengthy Instagram post.

An official cause of death was not given.

Grigg had previously spoken openly about her health to her 1.4 million TikTok followers.

In a TikTok posted on Aug. 8, Grigg said she was once “very athletic,” but now she's “no longer healthy and in good shape, and hasn't been for a long time.”

Grigg said she “fell ill” immediately after her marriage in August 2023. She only found out what was wrong with her “a few months” before the 2024 video was published.

“You see how I've been sick the whole time we've been married and it wasn't until this year that I figured out what was wrong… I barely figured out what was wrong with me. I struggled the whole time with the feeling that I was going to die,” she said.

Grigg said she felt like she had to “fight for life, to live, to be here.”

“It just sucks because I'm 24 years old, I should be in my prime, I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs, I should be able to walk or run to the mailbox, and “It's just the kind of thing I can't really do right now,” she said.

The TikToker, who turned 25 in September, confirmed that she had a diagnosis that she did not share.

“I was diagnosed by a doctor after not knowing what was wrong with me for a while. I haven't been diagnosed in a very long time, so I'm still struggling with the fact that it's a 'forever thing,'” she said.

She said she wanted to keep the details of her “health issues” private because sharing “gives people space to leave suggestions and tell me what to do.”

In Cameron Griggs' Instagram post announcing her death, he said his wife had been “in and out of the hospital since we got married.”

“Over the past year, Taylor has endured more pain and suffering than most people endure in a lifetime. And yet she was still such a light and always brought joy to everyone around her,” he said.

Cameron Grigg announced that Taylor Rousseau Grigg would donate her organs. “Her earthly body is still here and we are controlled by machines to keep her organs usable for donation,” his post reads.

Spokespeople for Griggs confirmed to TODAY.com that her organs will go to children.

“We would like to announce that Taylor's organs will be donated to pediatric children,” representatives wrote in a statement shared with TODAY.com. “Taylor would definitely like to hear this as she has always loved helping others when she could.”

Cameron Grigg has also started a GoFundMe because her illness has impacted her “financial situation,” he said on Instagram.

Taylor Rousseau Grigg was known on TikTok for content about her life, which often discussed her marriage, her dog, her faith, and the country lifestyle she led. Her most recent TikTok, posted on September 26, followed a visit to the vet.

While she never had the opportunity to speak to her followers again, Cameron addressed her followers in his post announcing her death, noting that she was no longer in pain.

“She doesn’t owe anyone anything. But she wants everyone to know that she is more than okay,” he wrote. “While her earthly body is still here, waiting to bestow the gift of life, we know that her spirit is in heaven, dancing on the streets of gold with all her beauty and grace. Your endless shoe/boot collection. And her rhinestones and her turquoise jewelry.”
