A meeting of music and solidarity – Exaudi

On December 7, 2024, Paul VI will take place in the Hall. The fifth edition of the “Concert with the Poor” took place in Vatican City, an event that combines artistic beauty with social solidarity. This year it will feature the exceptional participation of Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer as well as renowned cellist Tina Guo, composer and priest Mons. Marco Frisina and composer Dario Vero.

A concert for everyone

The “Concert with the Poor” is not just a musical event; it is a symbol of unity and charity. In this edition, 8,000 people will attend the concert, including 3,000 needy guests from different languages ​​and religions who will be the special guests of the event. These guests, selected by the Dicastery for the Service of Charity and various voluntary organizations, will receive a take-away dinner and other amenities at the end of the concert.

Internationally recognized artists

Hans Zimmer is known for his unforgettable soundtracks in films such as The Lion King, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar and Pearl Harbor. During the concert, Zimmer will alternate on stage with Msgr. performing and presenting his most famous pieces. Marco Frisina, who will conduct some of his compositions for films with a religious theme. The participation of Tina Guo, one of the most recorded cellists in the film and video game industry, will add a special touch to the evening.

Msgr. Marco FrisinaIn addition to being the founder and director of the Choir of the Diocese of Rome, he is also a renowned composer of liturgical hymns and soundtracks for religious films. His music resonated in important liturgies presided over by the Pope and at events worldwide.

Tina Guo has worked several times with Hans Zimmer and is known for her versatility as a cellist and composer. Her collaborations include the soundtrack for “Wonder Woman” and her participation in international events such as the League of Legends World Championship and Comic-Con.

Dario VeroComposer and conductor, has worked on various institutional and film projects. His collaboration with the “Kiev Virtuosi” orchestra and participation in productions such as “Mission: Impossible” underline his talent and versatility.

Orchestra and choir

The Nova Opera Orchestraconsisting of top musicians from Italy and Europe, will perform a repertoire ranging from classical music to opera to film soundtracks. The Choir of the Diocese of RomeFounded in 1984 by Msgr. Frisina, celebrates its 40th anniversary and has participated in numerous liturgical and cultural events in Italy and abroad.

A day of encounter and solidarity

The day begins with a private audience of Nova Opera's artists and partners with Pope Francis, underscoring the importance of the event in promoting the values ​​of solidarity and inclusion. Organizations such as Caritas of Rome and Lazio, the Community of Sant'Egidio and the Circolo San Pietro, among others, will collaborate in this event to ensure that those most in need receive the support and dignity they deserve.

Participation and registration

Participation in the “Concert with the Poor” is only possible by invitation. Registration is possible from November 18, 2024 on the official event website. The invitation cards are sent by email and contain a QR code that must be presented at access control on the day of the event.
