“I'm going to win $1.7 million”… Conor McGregor is betting big on Francis Ngannou ending in a shock knockout against Renan Ferreira

“I'm going to win .7 million”… Conor McGregor is betting big on Francis Ngannou ending in a shock knockout against Renan Ferreira

Conor McGregor has made a big bet on Francis Ngannou's MMA comeback fight.

Ngannou has not fought in MMA since outpointing Ciryl Gane to defend his heavyweight title at UFC 270 in January 2022.

He has since left the UFC, joined the PFL and made millions in boxing matches with Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua, who brutally knocked him out in their fights in March.

On Saturday, Ngannou will return to the cage against 6-foot-2 Brazilian knockout artist Renan Ferreira in the main event of PFL Super Fights: Battle of the Giants, set to take place at Mayadeen in Saudi Arabia.

Conor McGregor believes Francis Ngannou will lose again

During the first main card fight of the night between AJ McKee and Paul Hughes, Conor McGregor took to X – formerly known as Twitter – to let everyone know who he's supporting in the highly anticipated main event of the PFL's biggest card yet.

“Tonight the bet is for me. 500,000 on Ferriera on May 12th. to win by knockout. $1.7 million return,” he captioned a voice note.

The UFC legend boasted about his winning streak when betting on MMA fights and boldly predicted that Ferreira will knock out Ngannou when they meet.

McGregor said in his voice memo: “Okay guys, this is 'The Notorious' Conor McGregor.

“Fight night, fight night, fight night. The Mac is back with its winning bets. I have a 100% win rate on these bets.

“Ngannou loses by knockout tonight. 12/5: The Brazilian will knock him out and I'll bet half a million on it and win back $1.7 million.

“That's it. It’s a ruthless business and I’m a ruthless man.”

Moments later, McGregor proved he was serious by posting a screenshot of his betting slip. It was revealed that he had backed Ferreira with $500,000 and will get $1,675,000 back if the Brazilian manages to win by knockout.

Conor McGregor bet $1 million on Alex Pereira against Khalil Rountree Jr.

Earlier this month, McGregor eagerly watched the UFC 307 main event between Alex Pereira and Khalil Rountree Jr. from home and enhanced his viewing experience by placing a whopping $1 million bet on the fight.

The Irishman couldn't name a winner, but he was confident someone would be knocked out. When Rountree Jr. was eliminated in round four, he got his stake back and an additional $200,000.

It has since been suggested that McGregor may have broken a UFC rule by betting on the light heavyweight title fight.

Until October 2022, there were no rules against fighters betting on fights. However, due to an ongoing incident involving former coach James Krause, the promotion changed its athlete conduct policy.

The promotion released a memo to all fighters and their managers stating that they were now banned from participating in UFC fights, regardless of whether they were involved or not.

It's currently unclear whether McGregor will be penalized by the UFC, but he's doing nothing wrong at all by betting big money on Ngannou vs. Ferreira.
