Travis Kelce defends himself after 'ridiculous' fans question his loyalty: 'Ask anyone'

Travis Kelce doesn't let baseball fans call him a “poser” and defends himself against questions about his team loyalty with a sharp message.

It all started earlier this week, after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his pop superstar girlfriend Taylor Swiftwere spotted at a Yankees playoff game. Days later, Kelce published an enthusiastic post on X (formerly Twitter) expressing his support for Cleveland's MLB team, the Guardians.

“Playoff baseball baby!!! @CleGuardians are absolutely ROCKING the city TONIGHT!!” Kelce, 35, exclaimed. “What a game!”

The three-time Super Bowl champion's statement angered some people online who believe there is a rule about only cheering for one team per sport. Shortly after, Kelce responded to his original tweet with a pretty telling statement.

“I have been a lifelong Cleveland Sports fan…” he wrote, adding, “I attend countless Guards and Cavs games over the years just to enjoy the memories with my friends and family , WIN OR LOSE!” !”

“I don't wear Cleveland gear once and suddenly I'm not a real fan anymore?!” The New heights the podcaster exclaimed in disbelief. “Ask anyone who was in or near this suite for Game 1 who I was cheering for, they'll tell you I was there for the @CleGuardians.”

Those who keep a close eye on Kelce found this whole interaction hilarious, with one fan writing, “I love how Travis Kelce has a million rumors spread about him every day and he doesn't respond to any of them but as soon as someone accuses him .” Since he's a fake Cleveland fan, he has to make it clear that he's a real Clevelander.

“It was so ridiculous,” wrote a second in defense of the professional footballer. “Just because he doesn’t travel to New York in Guardians gear. I’m sure if it was a home game he would be wearing full fan gear.”

Even the MLB team's official X account appeared to contradict the claims, joking in a response to the NFL star: “See you in full uniform next time though, right?”

Still, fans are determined to “cancel” Kelce's latest sports release, citing not only his recent date night at The House that Ruth Built, but also a decades-old tweet in which they resurfaced and in which he cheering on the Bronx Bombers.

“And my #Yankee is lost…” Kelce tweeted in October 2010. But hats off to the #Rangers but I'm feeling bad tonight!!!”
