According to the National Weather Service of Louisville, a freeze warning is in effect for Louisville between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Wednesday, with temperatures rising to the low 30s in the evening.

“Temperatures in the low to mid 30s will result in frost formation,” according to the Louisville NWS. “Frost could damage sensitive outdoor plants. Delicate outdoor plants can die if not covered.”

The change in temperature didn't go unnoticed, as some people celebrated the fall weather and others pointed out the rapid change in the forecast.

Will it be freezing in Louisville tonight?

According to NOAA's National Weather Service glossary, freezing temperatures are 32 degrees and below.

Although it may seem like it to some, the expected evening temperatures from Tuesday to Wednesday are not quite as icy. The temperature will be around 36 degrees in the evening, according to the NWS forecast.

30% chance of rain, mainly between midday and 3 p.m. Partly sunny, with highs around 56 degrees. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph.

Wednesday

Light frost before 9 a.m. Otherwise sunny with high temperatures around 57 degrees. North wind 3 to 7 mph.

Mostly clear, with lows around 36 degrees. Light and changing wind.

Thursday

Light frost before 9 a.m. Otherwise sunny with a high around 62 degrees. Calm wind.

Sure, with low temperatures around 38 degrees.

Sunny, with a high near 67 degrees.

Friday evening

Sure, with low temperatures around 41 degrees.
