A strong winter storm will cause more snow

The forecast for tonight:
Clouds will continue to move out of the area, but temperatures will continue to drop. Most of us will experience temperatures around 20°C, but tomorrow we will experience warmer temperatures. The winter storm watches are in effect from Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. to Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. These include Northern El Paso County and Teller County.

Colorado Springs Forecast: Low: 24; High: 52;
The springs will remain clear tonight and there will be light winds. Tomorrow morning temperatures will be around 20°C. So if you're leaving early to vote, you'll need layers. We will warm up throughout the day, eventually peaking at below 50°. Towards the evening cloud cover will increase and eventually there will be some rain in the area. If temperatures drop overnight, it will snow.

Pueblo Forecast: Low: 22; High: 59;
Pueblo will reach temperatures below 20 degrees this evening, so jackets will be needed in the morning. We will gradually warm into the upper 50s and Pueblo is not currently included in any winter storm watches. It will snow in your area at some point, but that won't happen until later. We could see impacts for most of the day on Wednesday. The highest amounts of snow in Pueblo County will be in the south.

Canon City forecast: Low: 28; High: 54;
Canon City will reach the upper 20s this evening and we'll reach the mid 50s tomorrow. This will be the warmest day this week before we get a blast of arctic air and more chances of snow. No watches have yet been issued for Canon City.

Woodland Park Forecast: Low: 15; High: 44;
Woodland Park will see some of the biggest impacts in terms of snow amount. Lows tonight will reach into the teens. So if you plan on voting tomorrow morning, be sure to wear layers. As evening approaches, the chances of snow increase and could start as early as 5 p.m. Snow will continue throughout the night and into Wednesday. All of Teller County was placed under a winter storm watch from 5 p.m. through 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Tri Lakes Forecast: Low: 22; High: 47;
The Tri-Lakes are also expecting some big impacts through Wednesday. Tonight temperatures will rise to below 20 degrees. Highs tomorrow will be in the upper 40s. We could see between 4 and 8 inches of snow along the Palmer Divide, with the higher totals closer to the mountains. Because the models are not quite at eye level yet, we are showing such a large selection.

Plains forecast: Low: Mid to low 20s; High: Mid to upper 50s;
The Plains will reach mid to low 20s tonight and we'll be in the 50s tomorrow. Enjoy this “warmer” weather because the rest of the week will be COLD. Snow also appears to be affecting the plains, but only at a later date. It will be a little more difficult to achieve some accumulation in the Arkansas River Valley, but it is still entirely possible.

Forecast for Walsenburg and Trinidad: Low: 22/20; High: 50/51;
A few inches of snow fell overnight in Walsenburg and Trinidad, and the Wet Mountains received the most snow. Temperatures will drop to the low 20s this evening but will warm to the low 50s by tomorrow afternoon. Snow will fall in the area during the overnight hours.

Mountain Forecast: Low: young people; High: 40s;
There will be some more snow on the Continental Divide starting tomorrow afternoon. This will continue throughout the day and could make travel over the passes dangerous. It may snow heavily at times, especially as evening approaches. This will be quite an impactful system for the mountains, so try to avoid the area throughout the week.

Advanced Forecast Forecast:
If you haven't brought ice scrapers or other winter supplies, tomorrow is the day to do so. Widespread snowfall is likely to occur in several waves throughout the week. This upper low appears to stall in the Four Corners region and remain there through the end of the week. Please use caution when driving as the wind may also increase and contribute to some snow blowing around, reducing visibility.

The biggest impact is likely to be seen on Wednesday and Friday. We could see a wide range of snow amounts and it all depends on temperatures. The total values ​​are highest closer to the mountains. We will continue to refine the details so that you receive the most accurate information.
