Actor Govinda suffers a gunshot wound due to the revolver misfiring and is rushed to the hospital

NEW DELHI: Actor Govinda was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday after accidentally sustaining a bullet injury on his leg with his own revolver.
The incident took place at his Juhu residence when the actor was checking his licensed revolver before preparing to leave for Kolkata in the early hours of the morning. The revolver accidentally fell out of his hand, failed to fire and injured his leg. Meanwhile, Govinda's manager has confirmed that the bullet has been removed from the actor's leg and his condition is now stable.

“We had to catch a 6am flight to a show in Kolkata and I had reached the airport. “Govinda ji was leaving his residence for the airport when this accident happened,” said the actor's manager Shashi Sinha.
“He had his licensed revolver stored in its case when it fell from his hand and a bullet was fired, hitting his leg. The doctor removed the bullet and his condition is fine. He is currently in hospital,” he added.
A Mumbai Police official also confirmed that Govinda was fine and the injury was not serious. However, he was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure, news agency ANI reported.
The actor thanked his fans after the incident and said that the bullet has been removed.
“With the blessing of all of you and my parents, the bullet was removed. I thank the doctors and you for keeping me in your prayers,” Govinda said.
DCP (Zone IX) Dikshit Gedam said that no case has been registered as no complaint has been received from anyone so far. A Juhu police officer mentioned that a diary entry would be prepared after recording the statements of the actor's family members.
