Ticket prices for World Series games in the Bronx fell faster than Yankees fans' hopes of another title – but state officials warn to beware of scams before hitting the “buy” button.

When the Fall Classic was held at Yankee Stadium for the first time in 15 years, tickets fetched an insane minimum price of $1,500 just days ago, but after the Bronx Bombers skipped the first two games of the series in Los Angeles, resales began Tickets for Monday's game are priced at the low price of $700.

“We couldn’t be more excited for our New York Yankees to bring the World Series to the Bronx this week,” Gov. Kathy Hochul said in a statement. “With increasing demand to attend this historic game, I encourage New Yorkers to protect their hard-earned money and be on the lookout for possible scams.”

Hours before first pitch Monday, nosebleed seats at Yankee Stadium were selling for hundreds of dollars on Ticketmaster and StubHub, with a ticket behind first base selling for $43,743.

According to the New York State Division of Consumer Protection, there are many ticket sellers on sites like Craigslist and Facebook Market Place who are taking advantage of hometown fans desperate to watch the Yankees turn things around.

A Craigslist post offered four tickets in section 1119 – a section that doesn't exist.

Tips from the state Department of Consumer Affairs include checking the seller, buying direct when possible — and being wary of low prices.
