They sometimes say that if you really love someone, you have to let them go. I feel like the situation was exactly that with the Bulls, their fans and Alex Caruso after last season.

For three seasons, Alex Caruso played his heart out in Chicago. And other than DeMar DeRozan, he was probably their most valuable player. He was one of the best defenders in the league, hitting three-pointers, diving for loose balls, and being a great teammate and all-around player that Chicago fans loved to cheer for.

However, he just didn't fit the path Chicago is now taking. Caruso was one of the contenders and it was best for both sides to move him.

The good news is that we don't have to wait long until we see Caruso in Chicago again! The Thunder are in town for the Bulls' home opener on Saturday night (I'm sure that will go well!). And in a meeting with the media earlier this week, the former Bull talked about what it would be like to be back (and soon).

It'll be nice to see a lot of people working at the United Center, obviously people from the Bulls team and then teammates, who of course I still keep in touch with. I had three really good years with this team and built a lot of good relationships, so it will be fun to come back. But of course, you know, we're going to be there for the business and try to get a win.

I'm sure Caruso will get a big ovation when his name is announced Saturday night at the United Center. And he deserves that! Although the team ultimately underperformed during his time in Chicago, it had nothing to do with his performance or effort.

Still, there are still two games left before Caruso and the Thunder come to town on Saturday night, but it's hard not to get excited about it already!
