Amanda Seyfried wants Sabrina Carpenter in “Mamma Mia!” 3'

As Amanda Seyfried awaits a return to one of her most popular roles, fantasy casting has begun for her new co-stars.

As we post an update on a possible third episode in the Mama Mia! The Oscar nominee addressed the likelihood of Sabrina Carpenter joining the cast.

After Carpenter sang the theme song to ABBA's musical at a recent concert at Madison Square Garden, Seyfried agreed Short and sweet The artist could “technically” play her character Sophie’s daughter in an upcoming sequel.

Based on the Tony-nominated jukebox musical, Mama Mia! (2008) accompanies Seyfried's Sophie as she prepares for her wedding at her mother Donna's (Streep) hotel on the Greek island of Kalokairi. What Donna doesn't know is that Sophie has invited the three men (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgård) who could possibly be the father she never met, in the hopes that he will walk her down the aisle.

The sequel from 2018 Mama Mia! here we go again Flashbacks followed of young Donna's (Lily James) romance with the three men in 1979, when she first arrived on the island. In the present, Sophie is preparing to reopen her recently deceased mother's hotel, for which her grandmother Ruby (Cher) makes a surprise appearance.

In May, Streep told Deadline that talks for the sequel were “imminent,” adding that “they had an idea” for the script.

Last September she said fashion She's “up for anything” when it comes to portraying Donna. “If there’s an idea that excites me, I’m all about it,” she added.

“I told (producer Judy Craymer) if she could find a way to revive Donna, I'm thrilled,” Streep noted. “Or it could be like one of those soap operas where Donna comes back and reveals that her twin sister has actually died.”

Craymer noted that the next film could follow “Lily James' version of Donna in these middle years.” Or what happens to Donna and Sam after the first film.”

Donna Langley, chairman of Universal Pictures, said the studio “would like to make a third film.” Meanwhile, producer Gary Goetzman said there have been “some discussions” about a third film, adding: “I really think it's going to happen.”
