Another 45 straight hours of snowfall are possible in Colorado Springs

With about 8 inches of snow falling in Colorado Springs in the last 24 hours, it could snow for another 45 hours starting at 10 a.m. Thursday morning. If the Weather Channel forecast holds true, snow could continue until 6 a.m. Saturday morning

While the National Weather Service has not yet released maps of snowfall totals last Friday morning, the agency estimates that in the “most likely” scenario, four to six inches more snow will fall by 5 a.m. Friday, with an 80 percent chance of falling Wear is coming, but if the 10 percent “high-end” snowfall scenario occurs, up to 20 inches could land in Colorado Springs by 5 a.m. Friday. Whatever the case, more snow is expected to continue falling through Friday and into Saturday morning.

The City of Colorado Springs is currently under a “Winter Storm Warning” until 5 a.m. Saturday morning, warning of very difficult travel. Morning and evening commutes are expected to be affected. This warning indicates that up to 10 centimeters of additional snow could fall between 8 a.m. Thursday and Saturday morning.

The total snow follows about 20cm that landed in the area in the last 48 hours.
