Anthony Edwards scored a record-setting win against the Raptors on the night

Since losing their opening game against the Los Angeles Lakers, the Minnesota Timberwolves have found their rhythm. They followed their loss with a narrow win in Sacramento, followed by a win over the Raptors in their home opener on Saturday.

The gloom that many tried to create for this team after the 1-0 defeat has subsided and this team is already starting to find its rhythm. In Saturday night's win over Toronto at Target Center, Anthony Edwards once again reminded Wolves fans of his greatness.

Edwards scored 24 points and four assists in the win. But the most impressive part of his night were the five three-pointers he made. Yes, Ant has often made five or more three-pointers in a game (46 times to be exact). But it was those five three-pointers that helped him achieve an incredible breakthrough performance – becoming the youngest player in NBA history to hit 800 three-pointers in his career.

At 23 years and 82 days old as of Saturday, Edwards is officially the youngest player to ever achieve this prestigious feat. Of course, given his tremendous shooting talent, it's not all that surprising that he would do this, but it's still notable and worth celebrating.

Ant was given a certain amount of green light from the moment he stepped onto the court in his rookie year in 2020-21. He had plenty of opportunities to bomb from outside the arc and he more than capitalized on those opportunities. Edwards is currently shooting 35.4% from three-point range for his career.

Also notable is the fact that Ant tied Stephen Curry for the fifth-fewest games, reaching 800 three-pointers with his performance on Saturday. He and Steph both needed 305 games in their respective careers to reach that number.

This is another reminder of who the Timberwolves' franchise player is. Edwards has been a sensational talent since day one and he just keeps getting better. The older he gets, the more records like this he accumulates.
