Arteta is happy with three points and a clean sheet – Arseblog News

Following our 2-0 win against PSG this evening, Mikel Arteta spoke to the broadcast media. Here's what he had to say.

The result…

Really happy. Of course we want to make the Emirates a really difficult destination. We want to feel really comfortable and confident that we can play our way against big opponents. And I'm really happy with the result, with the goal conceded, with the performance, especially in the first half. And then we had to adapt to their style of play in the second half. It forced us to go much deeper than we wanted in many moments, but we are still happy playing this game.

Credit goes to Nicolas Jover as the set-piece coach…

We always give credit to the coaches for the work they do. But in the end the players have to get involved. We put a lot of effort and work into it. It's a game-changing situation. Today was the day. We still had three or four big open situations where we could score, but we couldn't do that. So we have to score somehow to win games.

Are more teams focusing on set pieces?

Yes, I think there has been a huge change in the last five years. You can see how many specialists are in the game and everyone is working on everything. That's why it's becoming increasingly difficult to win.

Being undefeated so far this season…

Yes, really good, especially after the international break. It was a really challenging time. The number of games, the level of games, the little recovery we had between games compared to other teams. The injuries the team has had, but the team wants it and we will continue to win. Thank you very much.
