Auburn flips QB Deuce Knight as Tigers push for No. 1 class

Auburn flips QB Deuce Knight as Tigers push for No. 1 class

Lucedale (Miss.) George County On300 quarterback Deuce Knight is traveling to Auburn and will announce his commitment on Wednesday following his official visit over the weekend. He was on campus for all four home games this fall.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound Knight, a former Notre Dame commit, becomes the No. 25 commitment in the class of 2025 for head coach Hugh Freeze and the Tigers.

The On3 industry sees Knight as the seventh passer in the country and the 36th prospect overall. He complements an Auburn squad that previously ranked No. 5 nationally.

With the talented Knight on the team, this could be a class that could finish at No. 1. More on that in a moment.

Knight has been a conversation partner with the Irish since September 2023. But the SEC's lure of playing for a program with such a quarterback tradition caught the blue-chipper's attention. The relationship with Freeze, Kent Austin and Kenyatta Watson made him feel at home. Knight also enjoyed building relationships with the talented young receivers on the roster and his classmates.

Now Knight is officially there.

On3 named Knight the best overall player in the prestigious Elite 11 Finals and the Overtime OT7 Finals. He is an explosive athlete with incredible arm talent. Knight can attack downfield with ease, complete all throws to the rim, and he can be a playmaker running the football. We also love his intangibles as a leader. When it all comes together, you'll see Auburn's next Heisman candidate in the bottom center.

With Knight as the jewel in the class, Freeze and Co. are aiming for the top spot in the overall On3 industry rankings. He joins Edge Rusher as the seventh top-100 player to join the team Jared Smithsportsman Derick SmithDefensive linemen Nate Marshall And Malik Autry and securities Anquon Fegans And Eric Winters. There are many more options out there.

Auburn works for more flips

Before Knight, we saw Freeze and the Tigers trade Smith from Alabama, Marshall from Michigan and defensive lineman from On300 Antonio Coleman from the Crimson Tide and running back Alvin Henderson from Pennsylvania.

They don't want to let up on this front.

Five-star cornerback and Ohio State commit Na’eem Offord becomes the goal number one. He was at Big Cat Weekend and came back for a few games this fall.

Receiver is a spot the Tigers are trying to work on in multiple spots, including Caleb Cunningham (Alabama), CJ Wiley (State of Florida), Travis Smith Jr. (Tennessee) and Sam Turner (Georgia Tech).

Signing USC Defensive Back Shamar Arnoux emerges as a target, as does Florida's verbal defensive line Joseph Mbatchou.

Knight won't be Auburn's last flip in 2025.

Auburn is a leading candidate for five-star offensive tackle Andrew Babalola

Whether you're with the Tigers, Michigan, Oklahoma or Stanford, there's a certainty in your program that you can land five-star tackles on offense Andrew Babalola.

Between Jake ThorntonAaron Pittard and Freeze, there is no employee Babalola talks to more than the one at Auburn. He tried to commit somewhere in the summer, before the start of his senior year and then again before the first game of his final prep season. All of these dates have passed. Meanwhile, he maintained a regular dialogue with the Tigers.

As Auburn puts the finishing touches on a strong offensive line, this is already happening Broderick Shull, Tavaris cube, Tai Buster, Jacob Ward And Spencer DowlandBabalola and Nelson McGuire there are two more out there. McGuire was offered earlier this fall and he is also trending toward the Tigers.

The Tigers are hoping for good news this weekend

Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County On300 running back Ousmane Kromah will announce his signing on Saturday.

The On3 RPMs are starting to move toward Georgia, but the confidence in Auburn remains. Kromah was very positive about both programs in the days leading up to his announcement.
