Travis Hunter, CB, Colorado: Purely on the field, Hunter probably deserves to be the favorite. He posted just his fourth consecutive 100-yard day as a receiver and forced the game-winning fumble in CU's overtime win over Baylor. Hunter is a Tier 2 candidate because his team is questionable, but every win increases his Heisman appeal. Colorado travels to UCF for another Big 12 trip in Week 5.

Carson Beck, QB, Georgia: Beck completed 21 of 29 passes for 243 yards in the SEC Championship against Alabama last season. However, a late turnover on a botched exchange hurt the Dawgs in this disappointing loss – a loss that prevented UGA from reaching the College Football Playoff. He'll be looking for redemption in Tuscaloosa this weekend.

Will Howard, QB, Ohio State: Good quarterback on a great team? This is an easy Heisman recipe. Howard threw his first interception of the year against Marshall, but still managed 275 passing yards and three touchdowns. Ohio State travels next with a 3-0 record against Michigan State.

Dillon Gabriel, QB, Oregon: Idle in Week 4, the Ducks take on a familiar face in a new context this weekend. Oregon officially begins its Big Ten days against former Pac-12 nemesis UCLA. Gabriel enters the conference with 940 total yards and eight scores.

Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas: If he misses another game, Ewers will pause the Heisman talks simply because of missed opportunities. His status for the upcoming SEC opener against Mississippi State is unclear, but Ewers is expected to return in mid-October when UT faces rival Oklahoma.
