Harris Dickinson says he and Nicole Kidman freely chose their sex scenes in their new erotic film “Babygirl.”

“We talked to the intimacy coordinator about it, and then Nicole and I kind of did our own thing after setting the parameters that we were both comfortable with,” Dickinson, 28, recently told Variety.

“The intimacy coordinator asks, 'What are you comfortable with, what do you want as a director, what do you want to execute from that vision?' They enable that and do it very carefully without interrupting the actual scene.”

“Babygirl” is about the influential CEO Romy (Kidman), who begins an affair with the young intern Samuel (Dickinson). Romy's husband (Antonio Banderas) knows nothing about their dangerous liaison, which puts their career and family life at risk.

The film proved daunting for the 57-year-old Kidman. When asked what she thought was the biggest challenge in making the film, Kidman told Variety: “The whole thing.”

“I actually live up to that and try to be open and raw and available every day in every way I can,” she explained.

“The nature of this film was that you were either completely vulnerable and exposed, or you were protected and then the thing no longer had any connection. When I met with (director Halina Reijn) and we talked about it, I was like, 'Just give us a safe space,' and then, 'Please don't make me look like an idiot.'”

Kidman also shared how filming took a toll on her physically. She recently revealed that she had to temporarily stop filming because it was too strenuous to fake orgasms in several sex scenes with Banderas, 64, and Dickinson.

“There were times during filming where I thought, 'I don't want to have an orgasm anymore,'” Kidman said, according to The Sun.

“I don't care if I'm never touched again in my life!” she joked.

“It was so present for me the whole time that it was almost like burnout,” Kidman added.

When Kidman spoke to Vanity Fair about “Babygirl” in August, she said that her role in the project left her feeling “ragged.”

“At one point I thought, 'I don't want to be touched,'” she remembers. “I don't want to do this anymore, but at the same time I was forced to do it. (Director) Halina (Reijn) held me and I held her because it was just very confronting for me.”

Months after filming, she still felt that way. “It's like, my God, I'm doing this and it's actually being seen by the world now. It’s a very strange feeling,” she said. “It’s something you do and hide in your home videos. It’s not something the world will normally see.”

She continued: “I felt very exposed as an actress, as a woman, as a human being. I had to go in and out, I had to put my protection back on. What did I just do? Where did I go? What have I done?”

“Babygirl” hits theaters on December 25th.
