Bears' Tyrique Stevenson mocked Commanders fans before blowing Hail Mary

Has karma defeated the bears?

In a video posted to social media, Bears defensive back Tyrique Stevenson was seen taunting the Commanders crowd seconds before Jayden Daniels launched a Hail Mary pass toward the end zone that gave Washington a dramatic 18-15 lead -Victory brought.

Stevenson pointed and jumped around as the ball was snapped before finally turning his attention to the play unfolding around him.

It's pure irony that Stevenson ended up being the one who tipped the final pass that ended up in the hands of Commanders receiver Noah Brown.

“To Chicago and his teammates, I apologize for the lack of attention and focus,” Stevenson wrote on social media, apologizing for his actions. “The game is only over when there are zeros on the clock. I can't take anything for granted. Notes taken, improvements will occur.”

“It comes down to the last play, and we've practiced this play a hundred times since we've been here,” Bears coach Matt Eberflus said, according to the Associated Press. “I have to look at the execution, but we have a body against a body and boxing guys out like basketball at the very end. We have a guy on the edge throwing the ball to the ground. We have a tip man who goes behind the pile. I have to look at it and explain it in detail and make sure we are better next time.”

Daniels' miraculous throw came in the final minutes of the game as the rookie QB fell back into the pocket.

He rolled to the right before coming back the other way, taking a step forward and hurling the ball toward the end zone.

The ball fell from the hands of Stevenson, who was in the middle of the Commanders and Bears players, directly to Brown.

“When you lose a game like that, it’s hard to digest,” said Eberflus. “I was thrilled with how they fought back to have a chance to win this game.”

The Bears will look to restore their winning streak, which was snapped by Sunday's three-game loss, when they face the Cardinals in Week 9.
