As Blue Bloods is set to end after 14 years, the actor expressed his feelings about the cancellation of the popular show.

“I'm kind of frustrated. “For the last eight shows, I didn't want to talk about Blue Bloods ending, I wanted to talk about how it's still a huge success,” the 79-year-old told TV Insider.

He also discussed the success of “Blue Bloods” and how it landed at number nine out of 100 in the 2023-2024 Top 100 Shows. Selleck has been playing the lead role in the crime drama since 2010.

“I'm not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, 'Get off my lawn!'” Selleck said.

“I don't believe in holding grudges, but if you said to the television network, 'Here's a show you can schedule in the worst time slot you have, and that will guarantee you the next one on Friday night Win 15 shows “It would be hard to believe,” he added.

“My frustration is that the show has always been taken for granted because it worked right from the start.”

He continued: “My frustration is that the show has always been taken for granted because it worked from the start. How do I feel? It will take a long time to sort this all out.”

Selleck, who plays Commissioner Frank Reagan on the CBS show, added that it might take some time for him to realize that the show is coming to an end.

“I remember after the weekend (shooting the final episode) I said, 'I have to go to bed early tonight because I have to do my dialogue for Monday.' Well, there was no Monday. It'll just take a while.

The final eight episodes of “Blue Bloods” are scheduled to air in December.

The “Magnum, PI” actor's comments came after he confessed that without the money he earned from the show, he might be forced to give up his ranch in California.

In May, he spoke about his long, successful, decades-long career. Speaking about it, he told “CBS Mornings,” “You know, hopefully I keep working enough to keep the spot.”

“The place” is his 63-acre ranch in Ventura County, California. He bought it in 1988 after leaving Magnum: PI. It used to be an avocado farm before the drought, but now Selleck is focused on rebuilding the place.

The reporter seemed shocked that Selleck might actually lose his ranch, asking, “Seriously, that's a problem?” If you stopped working?”

“It’s always a problem,” the actor admitted. “If I stop working, yes. Am I ready for life? Yes, but maybe not on a 150-acre ranch!”

He got his first roles in the late 1960s and has since made a big name for himself.

Selleck married his wife Jillie Mack in 1987. He was previously married to Jaqueline Ray. The two share a daughter named Hannah and a son named Kevin.
