Broncos receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in the shooting, suffering a graze wound to the back of his head

Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds and another man were injured in a shooting last week after two vehicles followed them from a gentlemen's club in Glendale, Colorado, documents show.

Two men, Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza, were arrested in the Oct. 18 shooting, Denver NBC affiliate KUSA said, citing police.

Just before 3 a.m., police received 911 calls about a shooting near East Hampden Avenue and South Dahlia Street, KUSA reported. A caller said he was driving and was shot, according to court documents obtained by KUSA.

A second caller said he was being followed and two of his friends had been shot, the documents said. A third caller said they had been shot, according to court documents.

Using GPS tracking, the police were able to find the victims.

Reynolds was reportedly shot twice, once in his arm and once in the back of his head, KUSA reported. The second man was shot in the back and a third was injured by shattered glass.

The victims said they were at Shotgun Willies, a gentlemen's club in Glendale, and that two vehicles began following them after they drove off around 2:45 a.m., KUSA reported. They said there were no problems during their stay at the club.

According to the victims, the two vehicles continued to follow them on the highway. According to the news station, four vehicles were said to have followed the car in which Reynolds was at times.

Video inside the club allegedly showed Mendoza watching the victims. As KUSA reported, several vehicles were seen pulling into the club's parking lot, apparently waiting for the group to leave.

According to KUSA, Charlesworth, 42, allegedly denied shooting the victims and told investigators he was helping a friend who had asked him to follow the group.

Charlesworth and Mendoza, 35, are both charged with attempted murder and assault. An attorney for Charlesworth did not immediately respond to a request for comment. No attorney information was available for Mendoza.

The Broncos said in a statement to NBC News on Friday that Reynolds, 29, “was the victim of a shooting” and “was being treated for minor injuries.”

“Out of respect for the legal process, we will leave further comment on this matter to the authorities,” the team said.

An agent for Reynolds could not immediately be reached. The wide receiver was already on four-week injured reserve before the shooting.
