Broncos WR Josh Reynolds is recovering from two gunshot wounds he suffered last week

Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds is recovering from two gunshot wounds after he and another man were shot at in the Denver area last Friday.

“Josh Reynolds was the victim of a shooting in Denver on Friday and was treated for minor injuries,” the Broncos said in a statement Thursday. “Out of respect for the legal process, we will leave further comment on this matter to the authorities.”

Denver police said they have arrested two men in connection with the shootings that occurred around 3 a.m. Oct. 18 on a stretch of Interstate 25 south of downtown. Both suspects are being held on charges of attempted murder and assault.

According to Denver police, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and investigators are working to identify additional possible suspects.

Reynolds is currently on injured reserve due to a broken finger and did not travel with the Broncos to New Orleans for Thursday night's October 17 win against the Saints. Players on IR are not available to speak with reporters.

Reynolds is in his first season with the Broncos after signing a two-year, $9 million contract last offseason. The veteran WR has played in five games, producing 12 passes for 183 yards and a touchdown.

Reynolds spent the last three seasons with Detroit. He also played for the Titans and the Rams, who selected him in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Texas A&M.
