He explained: “I am aware of recent rumors regarding my health and would like to reassure everyone that these claims are unfounded. Due to my age and related medical conditions, I am currently undergoing a medical examination. There is no need to worry. Ratan Tata is a prominent figure in Indian industry. He became chairman of Tata Sons in 1991 and led the group until 2012. During his tenure, Tata Group acquired companies such as Tetley, Corus and Jaguar Land Rover and grew from a domestic company to a global company. Under his leadership, the group also launched Tata Nano and built Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) into a leading global IT company.
Tata stepped down as chairman in 2012 but was later appointed chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, Tata Motors and Tata Steel. He temporarily returned as interim chairman in 2016 during a leadership dispute.
