Chris Christie makes a tight bet on the 2024 race

With both Harris and Trump's campaigns ending on Tuesday, the race is neck and neck. A RealClearPolitics The polling average as of Tuesday afternoon showed Harris with a slight lead of 0.1 points nationally.

“But you asked about the conviction early on, and I realized I didn't answer,” Christie continued to tell George Stephanopoulos Good morning America. “I would bet about five dollars on Harris today. That’s not much of a conviction for a guy from New Jersey.”

Christie is notably one of three failed Republican candidates who challenged Trump and refused to endorse a candidate after he ended his own campaign. Former Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and former Vice President Mike Pence were the other two who did not support Trump, while all other candidates supported Trump. Even independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed the former president after he ended his own campaign.

In 2016, Christie endorsed Trump after he also dropped out of the race. Trump still had the public support of Christie's until 2020.

When it comes to the polymarket, others disagree with Christie. As of Tuesday, over $1.3 billion had been spent on Trump's chances of victory.
