Chuba Hubbard, new-look offensive line shines again

Chuba Hubbard, new-look offensive line shines again

There was a makeshift offensive line as backup center Brady Christensen played left tackle for the injured Ikem Ekwonu and Cade Mays was the third starting center of the season (after Austin Corbett and Christensen).

“I feel like everyone played great,” Hubbard said. “I think we've said since Week 1 that it's a tough league and unfortunate injuries, but Cade played great with his next-man-up mentality. “Brady is a man of many skills and can play almost any position.” So I always appreciate him, but the entire O-line just played great.

“The main thing we hoped for was just to be consistent and play all four quarters, and we did that.”

That was also noticed by quarterback Bryce Young, who pointed out that he “had the whole day there” after being sacked just once. He's gotten used to catching Christensen, but him moving to the left tackle position seemed seamless.

“He has so many different roles here and is just the guy who never complains, who is always willing to grow and change, always able to succeed wherever he is. That's not easy in this league. I've got them all.” I'm glad you didn't underestimate that by any means, just the ability to go inside and outside is a big reflection of the way he played, how well of a player he is .
