Clemson vs. Stanford Game Day – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Website

Clemson fans,

We hope you and your families remain safe following the devastation caused by Hurricane Helene. We look forward to welcoming those of you who can safely travel to Clemson for the game against Stanford tomorrow night. We have a number of important updates and reminders to ensure you have a safe and enjoyable visit.

Throughout the day, City of Clemson and Clemson University employees, as well as emergency responders in the Midlands and Upstate, worked tirelessly to clear roads and serve the community. Several hazards remain due to downed trees and power lines as our area was hit particularly hard. Please be aware of your surroundings and exercise patience with emergency services throughout your route.

After a detailed assessment of the storm's impact, Clemson University and Clemson Athletics officials, in collaboration with local community leaders, determined the expected impacts on the game experience:

MATCH DAY / DOWNTOWN

  • Kickoff for Saturday's game is still scheduled for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN.
  • All lots open at 10am instead of the previously communicated 8 a.m
  • There is significant damage throughout the Clemson area. Fans should exercise caution and patience as they travel through their area and the city of Clemson.
  • City and university resources are focused on repairing damage and opening neighborhoods to safe transit. Therefore, fans should limit activities in the city center and use main streets as much as possible.
  • Downtown businesses may have limited capacity. Fans who normally visit these areas on match days should seek alternative options.
  • Fans are encouraged to use campus and portable restrooms when possible.
  • Matchday staffing will be affected – fans are asked to remain patient throughout the match experience.

TRAVEL

  • Please make travel decisions based on local weather conditions. If your travel circumstances require it, transfer or list your tickets through Ticketmaster.
  • Please allow extra time for travel to the game.
  • Do not drive over downed power lines.
  • Be patient in traffic and parking.
  • Fans returning to potentially flooded areas should use extra caution when traveling at night and avoid driving through flooded areas or areas with downed power lines.

PARKING/TAILGATE

  • Parking lots open at 10 a.m. and Memorial Stadium gates open at 5 p.m
  • Please confirm your location with local business owners if parking off campus. Some local parking may not be available as may be the case during other weeks.
  • Here are parking options for single games: https://clemsontigers.com/football-single-game-parking-options-2024/
  • Tent Considerations:
    • Choose a sturdy structure with ventilated canopies
    • Anchor your canopy – use ropes and steel stakes. Insert through the holes in the canopy foundation
    • Avoid areas with wet soil
    • Remove the side panels to avoid sailing
    • Use weights on the legs of the canopy
  • Extension cords should only be used outdoors in wet weather if they are specifically designed for that purpose. General purpose extension cords should never be used outdoors as they are not water resistant and can easily cause a short circuit.

Clemson Athletics and campus security personnel continue to monitor the impact of the storm. The safety of fans and student-athletes at both universities is our top priority.

We look forward to seeing you in Clemson tomorrow.
