Colts announce 6 inactive players for Week 8 game against Houston Texans

HOUSTON – The Colts announced six inactive players on Sunday for their Week 8 game against the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium:

  • DE Genard Avery (foot)
  • QB Sam Ehlinger (3rd QB)
  • WR Anthony Gould
  • CB David Long Jr.
  • DE Isaiah Land
  • C Danny Pinter

The Colts activated defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and linebacker Cameron McGrone from injured reserve on Saturday and removed each player's questionable game status designation. Both Buckner and McGrone are active against the Texans; It will be Buckner's first game since Week 2 and McGrone's season debut.

No other Colts players were listed as questionable in the Colts' most recent practice report for Week 8. Running back Jonathan Taylor will play on Sunday for the first time since injuring his ankle in the Colts' Week 4 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Avery was out Friday; The Colts also ruled out linebacker Jaylon Carlies (fibula/shoulder), who was placed on injured reserve Saturday.

The Texans, meanwhile, will be without two starting linebackers (Azeez Al-Shaiir and Henry To'o To'o) and a starting safety (Jimmie Ward) on Sunday. Star wide receiver Nico Collins is also on injured reserve and is out.
