The Dallas Cowboys (3-4) were on a two-game losing streak entering Week 9 and will look to beat the Atlanta Falcons (5-3) to regain the momentum they had at the start of the season.

The Cowboys entered the third quarter trailing 14-10 after an up-and-down first half in which the offense found some rhythm but only scored one touchdown while the defense made a few mistakes, which led to two touchdowns for Kirk Cousins and Kirk Cousins led the Falcons' offense.

Dak Prescott entered the break with solid numbers, completing 13 of 17 passes for 102 yards and adding another 22 yards on the ground. Rico Dowdle leads the Cowboys' offense, totaling 43 rushing yards on the ground on eight carries, with one receiving a touchdown.

Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins threw two touchdowns in the first half and completed 14 of 16 pass attempts for 148 yards. Running back Bijan Robinson was a key player for Atlanta, touching the ball 13 times for a total of 62 yards.

Dallas opened the second half with the football, but they went three-and-out. However, instead of returning the ball to Atlanta, the Cowboys attempted a fake punt deep in their own territory, which failed incompletely. The Falcons took advantage of the puzzling decision and cashed in five plays later with an 11-yard touchdown pass to Ray-Ray McCloud to extend the lead to 21-10.

The Cowboys trailed by 11 points midway through the second quarter and needed an answer to prevent them from getting too far away from Atlanta. They answered the call, helped by a 22-yard run from Dak Prescott that extended the drive. Dallas capped a nine-play, 70-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to Rico Dowdle, cutting the lead to 14-10.

Faced with a fourth-down situation in Dallas territory, the Falcons go for it, and it pays off. There was some confusion in the Cowboys' secondary before the snap, and the mistake cost them dearly. Cousins found a wide-open Darnell Mooney for a 36-yard touchdown pass, extending their lead to 14-3.

After the Cowboys scored three times on the opening drive and took the early lead, Atlanta boosted it with a seven-play, 78-yard drive, capped by a nine-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins to wide receiver Drake London. 7-3.
