It's no surprise that when Taylor Swift When you share notes, they are on custom stationery with a custom wax “13” seal. What Is What's surprising is that the recipient had a handwritten note on the box that came “from Taylor Swift's desk.” Dave Portnoythe founder of Barstool Sports known as Swiftie – and a supporter of Donald TrumpThe president's ambitions for 2024.

Portnoy, who attended the second show of Swift's Miami leg of her Eras tour on Saturday night wearing his special sparkly jacket, shared that Swift's younger brother Austin Swiftdelivered the message to him in person in the show's VIP tent and that he shared a nice hug with Swift's mother, Andrea Swift. The note (with a footer that incidentally describes Swift as a “songwriter/cat lover”) thanked Portnoy for his longtime support and noted the backlash she has suffered since her endorsement Kamala Harris for the president.

“Dave, I'm so excited to have you on the show tonight!” Swift wrote. “I wanted to thank you for always being so supportive, so loyal and for having my back when many others didn't. I hope you have a lot of fun tonight!! Love, Taylor”

Back in September, there was intense speculation about whether Swift would announce her choice of candidate. Portnoy, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, was asked about it.

“I will never criticize anyone for talking about politics,” he said in an interview on Fox News before the Harris-Trump debate about whether he thought Swift would support him. As we now know, shortly after that debate ended, Swift released her statement expressing her support for Harris. “I don’t see an advantage for them, but to each their own,” Portnoy said of whether Swift would comment on the choice. At that time he also revealed: “Yes, I’m voting for Trump. I don’t know if I would describe myself as a Trump guy.”

Whatever he would call himself, he is open: Just last week, Portnoy released a video containing a six-minute rant about Harris.

“It's the gaslighting that the left is doing with Kamala Harris, making it seem like she's a great, game-changing candidate,” he said in part. “She is the worst candidate to ever run for president.”

But the morning after Swift posted her own endorsement, Portnoy stood up for her on social media. “As the king of the Swifties, people ask me what I think of their Kamala support,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). “I don't care at all. The people of this country can vote for whoever they want. How someone votes will never change my opinion of a person. I vote the other way, but it’s right for everyone.”

Flavor Flav objected to the title “King of the Swifties,” but Swift apparently appreciated the cross-aisle gesture and thanked him for it this weekend.
