Dennis Quaid speaks at Trump rally and says it's time to choose a side.

Actor Dennis Quaid spoke at a rally for the Republican candidate Donald Trump in Coachella, California, on Saturday, where the actor compared Trump to the president Ronald Reaganwhom Quaid portrays in the new film “Reagan” from MJM Entertainment.

Quaid opened his remarks Saturday by telling the MAGA audience that it was “time to choose a side,” both in the election and on broader political principles.

“Hello everyone. God bless you. God bless America,” Quaid said. “I am here today to tell you that it is time to choose a side.”

The actor then stated what the choice is between.

“Are we going to be a nation that stands up for the Constitution or for TikTok?” he said.

“Are we going to be a nation of law and order or wide open borders?” he continued. “What is it? Because it’s time to choose a side.”

Quaid then mentioned his role and compared Trump to Reagan.

“You know, I'm an actor and I just came out with this movie that had a famous last name: Reagan. My favorite president of the 20th century. And it's amazing how much the themes of the 1980 election resemble those of today,” he said, talking about issues such as inflation and the Iran hostage crisis at the time.

“We were a nation in decline. That's what they told us. Ronald Reagan came and said: No, we are not a nation in decline. We're going there. And we followed him,” Quaid said. “We're going there. And we followed him. The same goes for Trump. With President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century.”

During the rally, a woman who reportedly harassed Trump or protested was brought out from backstage. Trump mocked her and suggested she would be “knocked the fuck out” by her parents when she came home.

QUAID: Hello everyone. God bless you. God bless America. I'm here today to tell you that it's time to choose a side. Will we be a nation that stands up for the Constitution or for TikTok? You know, I'm an actor and I just came out with this movie that had a famous last name: Reagan. My favorite president of the 20th century. And it's amazing how similar the themes of the 1980 election are to those of today. I don't know if that's the case – those of you of a certain age here probably remember the inflation that existed back then: 20% interest on a bank loan. We had Iranian hostages. We were a nation in decline. That's what they told us. Ronald Reagan came and said: No, we are not a nation in decline. We're going there. And we followed him. The same goes for Trump. With President Trump. My favorite president of the 21st century.
