Life was only going well for the New Orleans Saints after they opened the season with a 47-10 win over the Carolina Panthers before heading to Arlington, Texas, where they defeated the Dallas Cowboys 44-19.

What a difference seven weeks can make.

Nothing has gone right for New Orleans since leaving the Lone Star State, as the Saints have lost all seven games since beating Dallas. They most recently lost 23-22 to Carolina on Sunday, a setback that may have single-handedly dashed any hope of a turnaround.

A terrible pass from New Orleans quarterback Derek Carr put wide receiver Chris Olave in a dangerous situation on Sunday, and Olave paid the price by getting sandwiched between two Panthers defenders.

Olave was put on a board and had to be carried off the field.

Carr was deservedly reprimanded on social media after the game, with former Saints full-back Michael Thomas among those who criticized the 33-year-old signal-caller the most.

“Dude scared and panicking and just throwing the ball. Get him out of here he's so a–,” Thomas wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It didn't stop there.

Thomas reposted three tweets denigrating Carr — and there may be even more by the time you read this — after posting a video of himself talking to someone who appears to be some sort of parking lot attendant.

“Tell me about Derek Carr, man,” Thomas said in the video.

After Thomas' new friend makes it clear that he is not a fan of Carr by declaring that “he doesn't know how to play” before doing an imitation of him being scared in the pocket, Thomas gives something Credit for that In his eyes, he deserved credit.

“Man, this is crazy, you know that,” Thomas said to the man. “You’re smart, you deserve my respect.”

We don't think the stranger in Thomas' video deserves a position in the front office, but he couldn't be more correct. New Orleans needs to make a permanent change at center.

Rookie Spencer Rattler, a fifth-round draft selection, has already gained some experience this season. He made three starts for the Saints and completed just 59.6 percent of his passes for 571 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. While Rattler didn't exactly make a splash, you have to think there's something better than sending Carr out for another week.

And if New Orleans wants to make a change, it needs to do so now. At 2-7, the Saints are tied with Carolina for the bottom of the NFC South, with a battle against the division-leading Atlanta Falcons (6-3) looming in Week 10.

There's virtually no room for error for New Orleans from here on out, and it's obvious Carr won't be the guy to help the Saints get stripped down.
