Diamond Sports Group will be branded as FanDuel in new agreement

SOUTHPORT, Conn. – Diamond Sports Group's channels will soon operate as FanDuel Sports Network.

Diamond Sports Group, which is in bankruptcy proceedings, and FanDuel made the announcement Friday. Diamond's broadcasters have been called Bally Sports since baseball's Opening Day in 2021. The name change will take place on October 21st.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Diamond Sports has been in Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings in the Southern District of Texas since filing for bankruptcy in March 2023. The company said in a financial filing last year that it had $8.67 billion in debt.

Bally Sports' regional networks serve as the television home for eight Major League Baseball teams, eight NFL teams and 13 NBA teams.

Starting next week, all 16 of Diamond's regional sports channels will be called FanDuel Sports Network.

FanDuel TV will be able to show its offerings such as the “Up & Adams” show with host Kay Adams, other sports betting shows and other content such as horse racing and Euroleague basketball on Diamond's regional sports networks.

Diamond CEO David Preschlack said the partnership will enhance the fan experience and “deepen the value we provide to our team, our league and our distribution partners.”

For FanDuel, Mike Raffensperger, president of sports, said it puts the company's name in front of the largest group of regional sports networks in the country.
