Dodgers World Series tickets reach five figures – NBC Los Angeles

Dodgers World Series tickets went on sale Thursday morning and didn't last long.

Despite the $800 price tag, tickets for all four scheduled home games at Dodger Stadium sold out within a day.

On the used market, the cheapest starting price as of Friday afternoon is $1,081. These seats are located on the upper deck immediately to the right of the right field foul pole.

Placement anywhere behind the outfield ranges from $1,392 in rock bottom to $1,733 in prime home run territory.

And sitting right behind home plate? Between $15,000 and $20,000.

The Dodgers refrained from advertising or officially announcing ticket sales. Instead, the team sent an email to previous ticket buyers and shared the news on social media.

The Dodgers website notes that tickets purchased with the intent of resale “may be canceled and refunded” by the team.

The Dodgers currently lead the Mets 3-1 in the National League Championship Series, a best-of-seven series. If the Dodgers beat the Mets at Citi Field on Friday, the boys in blue will face the Yankees or Guardians in the World Series.

The Yankees currently lead this series 2-1. If both top teams win their series, it would be the first time the Dodgers and Yankees met in the World Series since 1981.

Last year, the cheapest Game 1 ticket between the Texas Rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks was $451 (standing room only). Seats rose to $774 at the lowest price.

If the Dodgers do not make it to the World Series, all ticket sales will be refunded.
