At least Dwyane Wade likes his statue.

The Miami Heat unveiled the statue they commissioned to honor the 13-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion. Fans immediately noticed that it didn't seem to resemble Wade all that much.

However, it was a direct hit with the man of the hour, and that is the most important thing.

“I just thought, 'This is beautiful,' Wade told reporters when he first saw it. “I'm biased, but I think it's one of the best statues ever created because it has meaning for us and for me.”

A similar situation occurred in 2017 when soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo's bust was immortalized for a piece at the airport near his hometown in Madeira, Portugal. The bust was widespread and Emanuel Santos told Bleacher Report in an interview in 2018 that he had a hard time dealing with all the criticism.

Hopefully the person behind Wade's statue doesn't face the same ridicule.
