Enzo Maresca on Callum Hudson-Odoi's return and Forest's threat | News | Official site

Sunday's visit of Nottingham Forest marks a return to the club that shaped Callum Hudson-Odoi, with the former Chelsea man a key part of the Reds squad.

After his breakthrough at Cobham, the wideman – who featured in the senior England team – helped the Blues win the Champions League, Super Cup and Club World Cup before starting a new chapter in his career at Forest City Grounds.

Hudson-Odoi, who has established himself as a key player in Nuno Espirito Santo's side, is ready for his first return to Stamford Bridge this weekend and is a player Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca describes as one of Forest's biggest attacking threats has.

Before the game, Maresca expressed nothing but admiration for the work Nuno is doing on Trentside and accepts that the Reds will pose a threat – just like they did in that game last season when Anthony Elanga's goal took the points back for the East Midlands.

“We have to be vigilant and careful because these days in football every game, regardless of the competition, can be difficult,” Maresca told Forest.

“Nottingham Forest have a very good manager in Nuno and a very good squad.” They are doing well, especially away from home – and beating Liverpool is never easy, especially away from home.

“They are doing well, it will be a difficult game and we will try to prepare as best we can.”

“Certainly he (Hudson-Odoi) is a very big player for them. “They have him and a lot of other good players and we have to keep an eye on them all.

“Not just because of Callum, he is certainly one of the good players they have and we will do our best not to allow chances against them, even if we do allow chances because that is normal.”
