ESPN analyst unleashes the biggest comment I've told you, Drake Maye

ESPN's Louis Riddick parsed New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye's successful debut start against critics who believed the rookie would be ruined by the Houston Texans.

Maye ended up throwing for 243 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the game. He gave Patriots fans a glimpse of the future as he was able to thrive against a Texans defense ranked among the third-best in football.

Many feared that using Maye too early could potentially stunt his development, largely because the Patriots had an inconsistent offensive line and a lack of playmaking talent at wide receiver. This was already a concern during the pre-draft process.

Nevertheless, Riddick had faith in Maye and reaffirmed his position after Maye's performance.

“The boy is a stallion. He just needs help in his environment. LOTS OF THEM, too,” Riddick posted on social media.

Sunday's game was the first of many for the young quarterback. Although he had some bumps along the way, he showed potential.

The development will be important as the Patriots organization looks for a sustainable franchise quarterback in the post-Tom Brady era.
