Experts say these US cities are at the lowest risk of climate disasters

There are countless factors to consider when purchasing a home, but one element trumps both square footage and amenities: durability. With climate disasters and weather events increasing dramatically in recent years, potential homebuyers are focused on finding a home that can withstand the challenges of the next decade or longer. And while coastal cities tend to be at the highest risk for climate-related damage, you don't have to be inland or on a mountaintop to have the safe home of your dreams.

Zillow real estate experts recently decided to add climate change information and climate risk data to all real estate listings on the site. Climate change is a very broad category. Therefore, rather than providing a blanket statement or risk assessment, the data is broken down into five categories of climate-related factors that pose significant risks to U.S. communities: air quality, floods, fires, extreme wind, and extreme heat. Read on for the 5 cities at the lowest risk of climate disaster.
