Falcons picked up Patrick Mahomes' kryptonite late in offseason for SNF matchup

Falcons picked up Patrick Mahomes' kryptonite late in offseason for SNF matchup

Patrick Mahomes wants the Atlanta Falcons' new safety Justin Simmons to retire. The safety has a habit of making good plays against his AFC West rival, and now the Dirty Birds will benefit from his play in a big Football on Sunday evening Interaction.

As a longtime member of the Denver Broncos, Justin Simmons has seen Patrick Mahomes often. He also saw many passes thrown his way – he intercepted him five times.

Five interceptions may not seem like a lot, but he has the most against Mahomes by far. Next on the list are five players who have only intercepted two passes.

If there's one player who can't be blamed for the Broncos' 1-14 loss to the Chiefs in their last 15 meetings, it's Justin Simmons. Denver's all-time best safety has always played well against their division rival.

Ironically, he will be facing his old rival in just his third game with his new team. The Chiefs and Falcons only play each other every four years, so the Dirty Birds have chosen the right time to bring in Jessie Bates' reinforcement.

The defense of Raheem Morris and Jimmy Lake must rely on their two safeties. Their task is to stop Andy Reid's attack, which is anything but easy.

Closing out NFL Sunday with a win would be a huge boost for the Atlanta Falcons. As we said a week ago, this team needs to show it can beat the best if it wants to be the best.

The defense has to do just enough while the offense has to control the ball and rely on the running abilities of Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. Do those things and you'll get to a convincing 2-1 record and be able to compete in the hot NFC South.
