WEST BEND — As time runs out for the state's general election and the final precincts in the county report their results, Republican Dan Feyen is leading the race for the state Senate District 20 seat.

According to preliminary results as of 11:15 p.m. on election night, with 15 counties yet to report, Feyen was leading the race with 62,483 votes, about 70.9% of the total votes cast. Feyen led Democrat Michael Rapp, who received 25,496, or 28.9% of the total vote. There were also 91 written votes in the election, making up the remaining 0.2%.

In a statement before the election, Feyen outlined some of his goals if elected.

“In the coming session, my primary focus will be on pushing for passage of a tax cut for the middle class and seniors. Despite our efforts in the previous session, the governor vetoed most of our proposed cuts,” Feyen said. “Additionally, we must continue to address Wisconsin’s housing shortage. Without sufficient housing supply, we will have difficulty attracting young workers to our state.”

As with any election, all election results are unofficial until they are obtained. For more information on the Senate race for District 20, see Thursday's print edition of the Daily News and online.

Results are unofficial until obtained.
